Located just 2 hours from Brisbane, you will find Spicers Peak Lodge, a luxurious property set amongst 8000 acres of private property which includes picturesque views of the world heritage listed Main Range National Park and Scenic Rim Region. By escaping to Spicers Peak Lodge for the ideal 'wedding escape', you will soak up this luxury retreat with your nearest and dearest, as well as enjoy the finest award-winning gourmet experience.

With smaller, more intimate weddings the popular option amongst couples, we are starting to see more and more weekend-long celebrations as opposed to just the one day. Couples like the idea of gathering a small number of guests and escaping to a unique location. They'll tend to entertain their guests with a casual welcome party the night prior to the big day, and then obviously the wedding day itself, finishing with a post-wedding breakfast or lunch the following day before the all the guests return home.

Spicers Peak Lodge allows couples to create a wedding such as this. From their boutique style accommodation as well as their award-winning dining experience all on the one property. Guests will be treated to several days of excellent enjoyment whilst witnessing the very special wedding day of the couple they have come to celebrate. ‘We specialise in intimate, destination weddings, offering exclusively, luxury accommodation and a Chef Hatted restaurant to offer a truly amazing dining experience for all the guests’ says Felicity, Spicers Peak Lodge Wedding Coordinator.

In terms of the wedding day itself, Spicers Peak Lodge will host up to 60 guests for a personalised celebration. Opting for a 5-course degustation, couples have the option to match their meal with outstanding wines, and not to mention the ceremony setting among the most breathing taking backdrop.

Spicers Peak Lodge also ensures absolute precision with the assistance of preferred suppliers to cater for your wedding, from stylists to florists as well as photography. Same-sex couple Hayley and Marica featured in the latest shoot by Spicers Peak Lodge, which allows us to imagine and dream up what the ideal weekend-long wedding would like at the picturesque location. Real couple Hayley and Marica feature in this latest shoot by Spicers Peak Lodge. We take a little look into their personal story as well as their expereince working on set.

How long have you been together?
Maz and I have been together just under two years.

Where do you both live?
We live in Currumbin on the beautiful Gold Coast

How did you first meet?
We were both working in Gladstone, I was working in a busy nightclub, and Maz was working at the only decent restaurant in town. She walked into my bar one night and ordered some drinks and immediately I was attracted to her. So, I did the required amount of social media stalking to hunt her down at her workplace. Then, I pretty much pestered her until she agreed to go on a date with me.

Did you celebrate in any way with the law passing for same-sex marriage being legal in Australia?
Absolutely we did. A few too many G & T’s were certainly had with our family and friends when we heard the news. It was a monumental day for the LGBT community in Australia.

What style of wedding do you think you would have?
I would love to have a beautiful, big winter wonderland style wedding, in some gorgeous snow-capped mountains with a stunning view and all of our loved ones.

Describe your ideal intimate wedding?
After having the privilege of this beautiful shoot at Spicers Peak Lodge, I can honestly say that this would be my absolute ideal, intimate wedding. How could love not be forever with that incredible backdrop?! The lodge, the service, the staff and that view were absolutely ineffable.

Describe your experience with working with the team of suppliers on the day of the shoot?
Oh my goodness. Everyone made our day so special. They made us feel so comfortable from the moment we arrived. They looked after us like we were their friends, they fussed on us like we were family, they laughed with us, they laughed at us, but it was just so comfortable with them all. It was awesome.

In your own words, can you express the importance of having an expert team look after your wedding?
From the very start to the very finish, no stone was left unturned. The attention to detail was second to none, and anything our heart desired or needed, was given to us with a smile, within minutes. It would alleviate so much pressure for a real wedding, and now that I’ve had a taste of being spoilt, it will definitely be on the wish list for my real wedding. We felt like Queens having this many people fuss over us, and it meant the day ran so smoothly with no hiccups and zero stress. Just love and happiness to focus on.

Describe your past experience of your stay at Spicers Peak Lodge?
We went last October for Maz’s 30th with a group of girls and we just had the most amazing time. The food was incredible, the lodge cabins were so comfy and homely but elegantly furnished. The staff were just awesome and looked after our every need. It was such a fun night away with the girls, we drank wine, laughed till our bellies hurt, and ate so much delicious food. We just enjoyed the sunshine, peace and quiet and chilling out together. Drinking champagne in the outdoor hot tub at sunset was such a beautiful highlight of our trip.

I can’t wait to get back there.

One million thanks to all the incredible teams, and staff of Spicers Peak Lodge for having us for the photo shoot. It was such an incredible day and honestly, nothing that I could ever have even dreamt of. It truly was magical, and I’m so very grateful you chose us. We had such a wicked day with you all.
