When we first laid our eyes on the work of STYLED BY VARU, we just knew that we had to get to know Lucy and her team. Whether it be for your wedding or any event in general, the STYLED BY VARU team will certainly take your celebration to an entirely new level.

When did you start styling weddings?
I once worked at a fantastic 5-hotel within their events department, and always loved setting up the amazing gala balls, conferences and wedding receptions. So, a few years ago I decided to focus on special events (mainly weddings) and launched my own event planning and styling company.
What is the thing you love most about weddings?
The romance!!!
I love celebrating two people who love each other so much they want to spend the rest of their lives together.
Where does your inspiration for all your beautiful designs come from?
I love different textures and bold colours. Whether it’s in the form of flowers, paper stock or crockery, I love mixing them up and creating what I call the “wow” moment. When the couple and guests see the wedding for the first time, I want them to gasp and be like “Wow, this looks amazing, I’ve never seen anything like it before.”
What is the one thing EVERY couple should first consider when planning their wedding?
Making sure their guests are always thought of is key to making the day a success, even though it's the couples big day, it's the guests who help make it memorable. It’s very easy to get caught up in flowers, dresses/ suits, stationery etc, but don’t forget to think about your guests and what you can do to make it enjoyable for them too!
For example, if you're having an outdoor ceremony in the middle of summer, make sure there is enough shade and water on hand for them OR, if there if you're having a ceremony around lunchtime, put on afternoon tea afterwards so that no one faints from hunger. It’s the little things that make the difference.
What do your couples love most about working with you?
My couples love how passionate, creative and organised I am when it comes to planning and styling their dream day. My clients always know they can call or meet with me whenever they need in the lead up to their big day. All the way from day one until the actual wedding we always do what we can to make planning a fun and stress-free experience for everyone.
The comment we always get once our couples embark on their happily ever after is “You made it so easy for us and it was so amazing - let's do it again!!”
