Wedding Style Predictions for 2024

As 2024 approaches, our curiosity about upcoming wedding trends has led us to connect with three of Australia’s top wedding stylists. While we typically shy away from following trends too closely, there’s an undeniable excitement in exploring trends to gain a fresh perspective and inspiration for the upcoming year.

“…yellow tones that add warmth, powder blues, lilac touches…”

These visionary stylists offer insights into the evolving landscape of wedding styling, presenting a satisfying array of possibilities. From captivating colour palettes featuring blues and lilacs to the charm of fine dining aesthetics, and not to mention the presence of bows—lots and lots of bows, and coloured wedding dresses—their predictions for 2024 wedding looks promise a captivating and diverse range of options for couples planning their special day.

Jessie, Ruby and James

“We predict the overarching theme for 2024 weddings, will centre around the experience for couples and their guests. The unexpected surprises, immersive entertainment, cocktails on arrival, roaming oyster shuckers and caviar shots. Channelling a fine dining aesthetic, with cosy booth seating, table lamps and paired back details. Allowing the venue and experience to take centre stage.

Custom illustrations will become more prevalent amongst the stationery and signage details. Couples are having fun with the personalised details, creating unique designs for their day. A custom keepsake piece for their home.

Vibrant colours will be woven amongst the styling and wedding party attire. Coloured wedding dresses and custom suits, to carefully considered flower palettes. We love putting together colour palettes that are a little unexpected; yellow tones that add warmth, powder blues, lilac touches, Klein blue and vibrant neon green to name a few.

And we cannot forget the bow, symbolising love, strength, femininity, unions and ties that bind. A surge of bow details has been seen wide and far, which we believe has been heavily inspired by the work of Doctor Cooper and the Spring/Summer runways. Amongst florals, illustrations, dress details, accessories, cakes and styling, the bow is here to stay for 2024, in a big way.”

“We will see more colours like purples and blues this 2024 and with the mix of intricate appliqués or patterns to create more depth with florals.

Bows are looking to be staying whether it's in massive or delicate styles from table setting decor to cake designs and of course, to dresses.

We would also expect to see a lot of old mixed with the new this coming year. Couples love the 80's 90's aesthetic but adding a modern twist, bringing a balanced maximalist vibe.”

“Styling in 2024 will lean further back into the feminine with a heavy look back into soft pastels blues and pinks. That being said, couples are not shying away from quirk and personality anymore with more and more taking the opportunity to do what they like with a flair in their stationery and fruits becoming commonplace. Don't be surprised to see A LOT of fabric and drapery next season...it's going to be EVERYWHERE!
