Brian and Braden: Embodying A Refined Charm

Brian and Braden’s story kicked off with takeaway tacos in the early days of the pandemic. As their love blossomed from that first kiss, it paved the way to their wedding—a spectacular fusion of muted tones and uber-chic aesthetics, perfectly embodying the refined charm of their love affair.

“(Marriage) means commitment and partnership. Loving someone for who they are and being loved for who you are. Having a best friend for life to navigate the good times and the bad and to one day build a family with.”

How and when did you meet?

We met in March 2020 right as covid was hitting while we were both living in San Francisco.

Tell us a little about that first time you met…

Our first date was the week COVID hit. We decided to still meet up after verifying we had not been in contact with anyone else. We didn't know whether it was ok to hug when we first saw each other given the circumstances which was funny. We decided to pick up tacos and margaritas to go from a restaurant and went on a long walk in Russian Hill. We ate at the top of a park and then had our first kiss overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge. It was pure magic!

What was the first thing you noticed about each other?

For Brian, it was Braden's eyes.

For Braden, it was Brian's smile.

Tell us about the standout moments in your relationship

Road tripping across the West Coast during COVID, meeting and comingling our friends and family, Brian losing his dad to cancer, getting our French bulldog Braxton, moving to NYC, and now getting Married!

What does marriage mean to you?

It means commitment and partnership. Loving someone for who they are and being loved for who you are. Having a best friend for life to navigate the good times and the bad and to one day build a family with.

Who proposed, and how?

Braden: I proposed to Brian on a road trip we were taking in Italy in the Summer 2022. The proposal was after a long day of hiking to the top of a mountain peak in the Dolomites where I popped the question.

When did you get married?

Our friends and family.

Our brothers gave speeches. Braden's ring is made from his grandfather's emerald. Brian wore his dad's watch and his grandmother's wedding ring on his walk down the aisle.

Where did you find the bulk of your inspiration?

Online, other weddings, our wedding planner.

How did you choose your suppliers?

Instagram mainly.

What was the most difficult thing about planning your wedding?

All the little details, the logistics, the last month.

Where did you spend your honeymoon?

Abaco Club on Winding Bay and Baker's Bay in the Bahamas.

Any advice for other couples planning their day and finding it difficult to navigate the journey?

Don't forget the finish line. The details matter but the wedding will be amazing based on all the people around to celebrate your love. Don't sweat the small things it will be the best day of your lives!
