“Marriage is all about making that choice to be with your person day in, day out. It's more than just the big moments; it's in the small, everyday decisions where you show up for each other. It's choosing to stand by them through the ups and downs, constantly renewing your commitment. This daily choice, to love and support each other, is what turns a relationship into a lifelong journey together.”

How and when did you meet?

Maggie and Christine: We meet in 2016, at work.

Tell us a little about that first time you met…

Maggie: Christine found herself interviewing candidates for an internal position – that's when she first encountered me.

What was the first thing you noticed about each other?

Christine: The first thing that struck me about Maggie was how overdressed she seemed compared to her colleagues. However, this initial observation quickly gave way to admiration for Maggie's sharp intelligence, which became apparent during a work interview.

Maggie: On the other hand, I initially perceived Christine as somewhat standoffish and cold. But upon meeting her in person, I was pleasantly surprised and touched by Christine's genuine warmth and engaging demeanor.

Tell us about the standout moments in your relationship…

Christine: We've been together for seven years, and there have been many memorable moments. But the standout has to be when Maggie proposed! I didn't see it coming at all. I always thought I'd be the one to ask, but Maggie got tired of waiting and organised an elaborate surprise lunch to propose. In my defence, I had been struggling to decide on the perfect ring because I knew almost immediately that I wanted to marry her.

What does marriage mean to you?

Maggie and Christine: Marriage is all about making that choice to be with your person day in, day out. It's more than just the big moments; it's in the small, everyday decisions where you show up for each other. It's choosing to stand by them through the ups and downs, constantly renewing your commitment. This daily choice, to love and support each other, is what turns a relationship into a lifelong journey together.

When did you get married?

Maggie and Christine: We got married on Saturday, May 27th, 2023.

What was the main influence behind your wedding day?

Maggie and Christine: Bougie haha. We wanted something moody and timeless.

Did you incorporate any family sentiments or traditions?

Maggie and Christine: The blending of traditions and personal touches made the day truly special. Our mothers-in-law presented us with jewellery, symbolising the unity of our families. We also shared our favourite songs, creating a soundtrack that was both deeply personal and joyously celebratory. To add a cultural touch, we provided evil eye keepsakes to our guests, a nod to protection and good luck. The Petal Project beautifully wrapped our roses, which we then gifted to our guests as a lasting reminder of the day. And, amidst the laughter and music, particularly the lively Greek tunes, we hope the champagne tower we joyfully assembled will become a cherished family tradition.

Where did you find the bulk of your inspiration?

Christine: Maggie was all over social media smooshing ideas together to get the vision we had. Our suppliers were also amazing with this too.

What was the most difficult thing about planning your wedding?

Maggie and Christine: We didn't do the wedding planner thing - so everything! Piece of advice, get a wedding planner if you both work full time!!

Any advice for other couples planning their day and finding it difficult to navigate the journey?

Maggie and Christine: Have fun! Remember why you are doing it and get a wedding planner!!
