Faithwood Chapel: A Haven Of Love

Recognising a gap in the market, Jewel Chenoweth and her partner created Faithwood Chapel, an intimate and elegant elopement chapel in Adelaide.

“I saw a need for an elegant indoor elopement venue, and with my experience in the wedding industry and as a wedding photographer, I knew we needed a space that was illuminated with natural light year-round, and after an expensive search, we found the perfect venue.”

After many years of shooting weddings, Jewel Chenoweth and her partner made the decision to elope. Their goal was to ensure that their elopement retained an air of elegance and beauty, akin to the weddings they had captured over the years, albeit on a smaller scale. Their elopement was a success, with only ten guests in attendance, accompanied by the melodious sounds of a cello and violin. The landscape was adorned with fresh, meticulously chosen flowers that perfectly complemented the surroundings, among other luxurious details.

However, despite their meticulous planning, they couldn't control the weather. Even in the last week of November, rain persisted throughout the day, accompanied by a bone-chilling cold. It led them to ponder what Adelaide lacked: a quaint white chapel. Adelaide, known as the city of churches, was replete with grand and picturesque churches. Yet, they wished for a charming chapel for more intimate ceremonies.

Their options for elopement venues in Adelaide had been limited to the registry office, a pub, or a park. Larger venues demanded minimum spending or a minimum number of guests. This led them to conceive the idea of Faithwood. Recognising a gap in the market for an elegant indoor elopement venue, they drew upon their extensive experience in the wedding industry, particularly as wedding photographers. They envisioned a space that basked in natural light year-round, and after an extensive search, they found the ideal location.

To promote their vision, they organised a styled shoot to exhibit the allure of luxury elopements within a quaint white chapel, showcasing the scenic beauty of their coastal surroundings, which had always held a special place in their hearts. In autumn and winter, the hills provided a reflective backdrop, while in spring and summer, the beaches offered a picturesque setting.

Their commitment extended beyond aesthetics; they aimed to represent couples who reflected their values and their community. Their chapel is known for its inclusivity, affirmation, and accessibility. The styled shoot aimed to capture the essence of an elegant, luxury, black-tie elopement, replete with refined elements such as a vintage Bentley and an opulent custom floral installation.

Moreover, they were committed in selecting vendors who were LGBTQ+ affirming, inclusive, and passionate about ensuring couples had an exceptional experience on their special day.
